2026 Important Election Dates

JunE 1

Candidate Filing Deadline

All candidates running for office must file for office by noon on June 1, 2026.

JULY 14

Last day to register to vote for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election.

JULY 15

Advance by-mail ballots begin mailing for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election.

Aug. 4

Primary Election Day!

This partisan election determines which Democratic and Republican candidates will be on the ballot in the general election.

A non-partisan constitutional amendment question will be on the ballot for all voters regardless of party affiliation. This amendment gives the voters the right to elect Kansas Supreme Court justices.

NOV. 3

General Election Day!

This general election determines the winning candidates for all races in 2026.

A non-partisan constutitional amendment question is slated for consideration. This amendment would clarify that only a person who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to vote in this state.
