2026 Vote No Information

This August Kansans will be voting on a proposed change to the state constitution that would let voters decide how Kansas Supreme Court justices are selected.  A 'No' vote keeps the current, merit-based, nonpartisan appointment system while a 'Yes' vote would return us to a election-based system that invites partisan politics, dark money, and corruption into our state's highest court.

Kansas’s current justice appointment system has helped ensure a court that is fair, impartial and guided by the Constitution, not politics. Our Supreme Court has consistently demonstrated independence, ruling against leaders from both parties when the law requires it. Turning judges into politicians risks injecting campaign cash, partisan pressure, and ideological agendas into decisions. Our Kansas Supreme Court is the body whose rulings have protected public school funding, civil and reproductive rights, and other fundamental freedoms, including the right to vote. Kansans deserve judges who answer to the law and the Constitution, not to donors, party bosses or political trends.

We urge you to VOTE NO on or before August 4th and to encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same.
